Resident Services is a program designed to assist Rutland Housing Authority residents with finding and accessing community services that help make a positive difference in their lives. While affordable housing provides a basis for economic stability, the role of the Resident Services Coordinator is to respond to individual needs and to foster community among residents. Through the development of community events and referrals to effective services, Resident Services provides the resources necessary to enhance the common experience of living in affordable housing along with providing the tools required to overcome barriers, identifying personal goals and plans for reaching them, and developing a sense of empowerment.
By providing the residents of the RHA with referrals to general services, creating avenues to become more economically self-sufficient and providing activities geared towards developing the neighborhood youth, the Resident Services Program aims to make a positive impact on the affordable housing community.
